Congratulations to Daya, Raaga Sri and Rachana Sri
We do what we do, so that children from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds in India can get a leg up, can get support to get to a place where they have more options in front of them, options that can give them a better job, a better future, a way out of the daily struggle that their family is so used to and have accepted as the norm. We do our best and it makes us so proud when we see these children push themselves to learn, to excel, to do their best. In most cases their families did not speak English at home and yet they pushed themselves to not only to learn a language at school, like I did when I studied French for five years but learn to 'do school' in another language, which is far harder than merely learning a new set of vocab, grammar and linguistic rules.
Congratulations to Daya, Raaga Sri and Rachana Sri, for your well earned pass marks in your 10th Standard Exams. We are so proud of you and encourage you to continue to be diligent in your studies and to do you best in your chosen subjects. You have made your families proud!
In India the first major set of exams is at the end of High School at Standard 10. Students then have the option of going to Intermediate, (Standards 11 & 12) which in most cases is at another campus. Once you have completed Intermediate, the next hurdle is three years at College to get a degree and then a post-graduate degree if you are able after that.
