May 2013

Dear friends,

God is so good!

It is great seeing things come together.  The last couple of months we have been seemingly quiet on the surface, but a lot has been happening behind the scenes.

In my last post I spoke about our desire to open Village of Hope in Tegalamada in June this year.  Our opening will be slightly delayed now as Preetham and Solomon who work and live on site have not wanted to open the home to children without a wall surrounding the whole property.  This was quite a daunting task for us at first as the four walls to be built around the property work out to be close to 570 metres in total, but now thanks to some very generous gifts we have funds available to finish the whole wall.  Work has started on it this week.

So in about a month, we will be able to officially open Village of Hope, a place for orphaned and needy children.  As well as provision for the wall, God has also provided sponsorship for our first 14 kids!  It is so exciting to see this dream about to become a reality.

Proverbs 19:17 says, 'Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward them for what they have done.'   Thank you for the many people who have invested their time, money and energy into this project.  We really could not have done it without you.  It is such a privilege to work hard to provide for a those that are so often neglected in society and especially for those that cannot repay us for what we do to help them.

Towards the end of July, I travel for the first time to Tanzania for a quick trip to meet with Gaspar & Margaret Kassanda, who have hosted many short term teams over the years.  I will only be on the ground in Tanzania for a few days, but will have the opportunity to travel to some of the many villages our teams have ministered in over the last decade and meet with pastors who serve in the many churches that have been planted as a result of what the teams have done.

We are now also launching Surge 2013!

Surge Fiji  - Dec 6 to 24 [$2000]

Surge NZ - Dec 6 to 24 [$500]

This year we have 2 teams already signed on to go to Fiji, with possibilities for a third. and for the first time, we will be having a couple of teams ministering in NZ at the same time!  Do you have a desire to serve God and give your all to see His Kingdom come in the nations or in NZ?  Then contact us and we will send you out an application form to sign up!  More on these teams over the coming weeks.

Thanks once again for all your prayer and support for us at Global Task.

Warm regards

Steve Saunders
