What is Surge?

Surge is about mobilising young New Zealanders on short-term mission trips into the nations. Young people from around New Zealand get together in Auckland for a five day prep camp preparing them for effective ministry in the nations. This is a wonderful time for young people all over the country to meet new people and get equipped for a common purpose - to impact the nations for Christ. Teams spend four weeks overseas working with local Pastors and key contacts, then arrive home for a three day re-intro camp where they can reflect, process their experience and learn how use their recent experience to best serve in their local church.

Since December 1999, Global Task has sent:

347 young people in 34 Teams to 15 Nations.  These teams have also assisted our local contacts in planting 68 churches, the majority of which are still in existence today.

For the last 10 years Global Task has been sending short-term mission teams to the nations -  preaching the gospel, praying for the sick and serving practically.  It has been an adventure of faith as God continually amazes us with His faithfulness year after year as He accomplishes wonderful works through many ordinary young people in the task of extending His Kingdom.

The years to come will see an even greater Surge of youth flowing out of New Zealand into the nations carrying the potent combination of simple faith and a servant spirit.

There is an inheritance in the nations waiting for those who will dare to step out! God awaits the willing & empowers the active, to step into His sweeping global plans!   Nations wait for those who ask large & launch out boldly! If that sounds like you, a Surge team has got a space for you!
